Beauty uses of rose water

Hello everyone!

I recently started using rose water as a facial toner and I love it!  As I told you in a previous post, I normally use (undiluted) distilled witch hazel but lately my skin is much more sensitive so I wanted to try a milder toner.  For years, this was the only product that my mother would use on her skin and her skin is gorgeous.

What is rose water?

Rose water is a by-product of the production of rose oil through distillation of pure fresh rose petals.  Did you know that rose water has several beauty uses and benefits?

Beauty uses of rose water:
  • Rose water is a well-known for its natural anti-septic, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.
  • Rose water can help reduce skin inflammation, lines and wrinkles.
  • Apply rose water to cleansed skin to reduce swollen and inflamed acne.
  • You could also dip a cotton disk in rose water and place it on your eyelids for a soothing feeling that helps cool tired eyes.
  • You can also combine a cup of rose water with ¾ cups of witch hazel and use it as a facial toner.
  • Combine a few drops of rose water with your regular moisturiser.  Rose water maintains the skin's pH balance.
  • Rose water is also a wonderful leave-in hair conditioner.

I'm not a fan of the rose fragrance that lingers on my face, and I can actually smell it throughout the day, but I love the way my skin feels and looks.
Rose water can be found in some supermarkets but this commercial type usually contains chemicals and artificial preservatives that are less effective than pure rose water.  Watch this video for instructions on how to make rose water at home.

  1. Howdy would you mind letting me know which web host you're using? I've loaded your blog in 3 different browsers and I must say this blog loads a lot faster then most. Can you recommend a good web hosting provider at a fair price? Many thanks, I appreciate it!
