Know your ingredients: Niacinamide

Image
Hello everyone! Today I am starting a new blog series titled  Know your ingredients ,   in which I will highlight a specific  active ingredient .  I chose to focus on  niacinamide  as my first ingredient. Why? Because if I had to pick one active ingredient that I can safely recommend to anyone, it would be niacinamide.  Also known as  vitamin B3  or  nicotinamide , this ingredient can be used by almost everyone. Niacinamide is a versatile skincare ingredient that is used for a wide range of skin conditions. Niacinamide also helps the skin produce more ceramides, helping maintain a  healthy skin barrier . Its anti-inflammatory properties make it ideal for treating  acne,   rosacea  and   other inflammatory conditions. Because of this, it is recommended for those with sensitive skin. Besides, niacinamide helps  reduce the appearance of pores  by  regulating sebum.  It can help combat  hyperpigmentation  and even help smooth  lines and wrinkles . Beauty hack | You need to put this on your lips!

Image
Hello everyone! My previous post was about  preventing chapped lips caused by wearing face masks . This post is also all about lip care. This time I want to share a  beauty hack  with you! When it comes to  anti-ageing skincare , lips tend to be neglected. Ironically, lips are one of the first and most prominent areas that show signs of ageing. As we age, lips start losing volume and lines and wrinkles accumulate over time. If you're a smoker or someone with the habit of puckering your lips, wrinkles can form sooner than you think. The skin around the eyes and on the lips is very similar. In fact, you can find many eye-lip combo creams on the market. Both areas are made up of the  thinnest skin on the face . Because the skin is so thin, these areas also lack sebaceous glands. Since the skin on these areas doesn't produce any oil, both areas are more prone to dryness, which means that they’re also prone to showing signs of ageing faster than other parts of the face. Additionally

Hello everyone! I am 36 years old and, I know that you cannot get completely rid of wrinkles, fine lines, and other ageing signs. However, you can slow the process down and make your skin look youthful. In this post, I want to share a homemade anti-ageing serum that will help reduce the signs of ageing .  Ingredients:  4 tbsp aloe vera gel 3 capsules vitamin E  2 tbsp rose water 5 drops lavender or rosehip essential oil (optional) 1 tbsp glycerin The essential oil is optional because some people with sensitive skin avoid using them on their faces. Method: Place the aloe vera gel in a bowl.  Add vitamin E capsules.  Add rose water and mix well.  Add glycerin and mix again.  Lastly, add 5 drops of essential oil.  Store this anti-ageing serum in a clean, airtight container.  This anti-ageing serum has incredible benefits for your skin as it is made with all-natural ingredients . Keep reading. About the ingredients: Aloe vera  works as an anti-ageing agent. It has Beta Carotene, Vitamin

Hello everyone! Remember my " beauty secret " post?  In this post I'm about to share another "secret"; aka the type of thing that people do not understand when you tell them or think you are crazy, but somehow I feel compelled to tell you, my readers, anyway! That's a mouthful! So, my secret is... Here goes nothing... I use neat (undiluted)  organic apple cider vinegar   on my face as a sort of   all-natural chemical peel ! Here's exactly   how I use it : I cleanse, rinse and towel dry my face and then I apply the undiluted ACV with a cotton ball.   This step is crucial : I only leave the  organic apple cider vinegar   on for about   2 minutes , then I rinse it off with plenty of cool water.   Do NOT   leave it on for more than a couple of minutes or it will burn your skin!  However, it is completely safe to use for one or two minutes two to three times a week .  Why I use it : ACV works better than any oth
