My current eyebrow routine | How I dye my eyebrows at home

November 16, 2022 0 Comments

Hello everyone!

I love eyebrow products and have a wide variety in my makeup collection; pencils, pomades, powders, tinted gels, pens, etc. Still, a few years ago, I discovered the magic of eyebrow tinting. Tinting makes your brows appear thicker and darker. I adore the results and the fact that I no longer need to use products daily.

Many use at-home kits to tint their eyebrow themselves instead of having them done by a professional. A dye kit costs much less than one professional appointment, and you can use it for many applications. And if you do not like the results, it fades in about a week and a half.

I have been dyeing my brows, as well as my mum's, for years now. Doing my own eyebrow tinting every few weeks is easy, effective, and budget-friendly. You can purchase an at-home eyebrow dye or use Just for Men Mustache & Beard Brush-In Gel or L’Oréal Paris Magic Root Rescue.

Want to try eyebrow tinting at home? Here is everything you will need...

  • Your dye of choice
  • Petroleum jelly
  • Cotton swabs
  • Baby wipes or water wipe
  • Foaming face cleanser

  1. Pick your dye and shade.
  2. Use a cotton swab to apply a small amount of petroleum jelly around your brow to ensure the colour does not run. Do not apply it to your brows.
  3. Follow the instructions on your dye kit and mix the product accordingly. Usually, this means mixing a small amount of base colour with a tiny amount of developer.
  4. Apply the dye with an angle brush. If grey hairs are a concern, apply to the greys first.
  5. Wait for 5 to 10 minutes.
  6. After five minutes, wipe off the dye with a baby wipe
  7. Then, apply a tiny bit of foaming cleanse or mild shampoo on your brows and add some water.
  8. Wash it off gently in the direction the hair grows. Do not rub.

To keep that gorgeous brow colour on point, you only need to refresh your eyebrow tint every three (3) or four (4) weeks.

Do you dye your eyebrows too? Leave a comment and let me know.

Talk to you soon.

Best vegan and cruelty-free palettes for gifting 🎁

December 06, 2021 2 Comments

Hello everyone!

It's that time of the year again; time for Christmas gift shopping! Finding the perfect gift for everyone on your list can be very time-consuming. When shopping for Christmas gifts, I always choose vegan and cruelty-free gifts.

Many of you ask me about cruelty-free makeup and what it is exactly. Here's what you need to know: Vegan makeup describes makeup that hasn't been formulated with any animal products or byproducts. Cruelty-free means that the product itself hasn't been tested on animals and that any raw materials used in making it weren't tested on animals, either. A product can be both, or one but not the other. Not all vegan products are cruelty-free and not all cruelty-free products are vegan!

Last-minute Halloween costume | Rosie The Riveter

October 29, 2021 2 Comments

Hello everyone!

It's almost Halloween! Are you looking for a last-minute Halloween costume? Don’t want to spend money on a new store-bought one or take a lot of time to do it yourself? Perfect! Here's a quick and easy Rosie the Riveter costume.

Rosie The Riveter poster

Rosie the Riveter was an allegorical cultural icon of World War II, representing the women who worked in factories and shipyards during the war.

Ready to do your own version of Rosie the Riveter costume? This iconic character is really easy to pull off and looks great. You’ll need:

  • Polka dotted headband
  • Blue collared shirt (or overall)
  • Red socks
  • Black shoes
  • Cardstock paper

Rosie's costume:

Tie the headband around your head and style your hair accordingly. Usually, the character is shown with blue overalls, but if you don't own overalls, a blue shirt and blue jeans will work just fine. Put on a pair of red socks and black shoes.

I made Rosie's speech bubble and name badge so you can save them and make your Rosie the Riveter DIY Halloween costume legit! So go ahead and save them!

You can then print them onto cardstock paper then, simply cut out the speech bubble and the name badge. Stick the speech bubble onto a stick or straw and carry it around. Use a pin back or velcro to stick Rosie's name badge to your clothes to make sure everyone knows who you are!

Rosie's makeup:

  • Eyebrows: Use an eyebrow pencil to fill in your brows. Rosie is known for her bold but thin brows.
  • Eyes: Use any neutral eyeshadow palette. Then, do Rosie’s signature winged eyeliner.
  • Cheeks: Apply some blush.
  • Lips: Apply your favourite red lipstick.

If you decide to dress up as Rosie The Riveter and print the badge and speech bubble I created, let me know in the comment section below!

Halloween makeup ideas for kids and adults

October 15, 2021 0 Comments

Hello everyone!

Halloween is almost here so in today's post, I want to show you some spooky makeup ideas for the whole family.

I chose five (5) classic Halloween characters that are always fun to dress up as. These makeup looks can be worn by both adults and children. Halloween is one of the best holidays for kids as they get a chance to dress up and trick or treat. A little face paint will complete their costume!

No matter whether you are a makeup expert or a beginner, these ideas are simple and easy to apply.

The Wicked Witch Of The West

A fictional character who appears in the classic children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz

  1. Use green face paint to cover your face.
  2. Make sure all exposed areas of the skin, neck area and ears are painted green. Paint the fingers and hands with the green makeup, if desired.
  3. Using the black colour, add details to the face. Create a high-arched, witch eyebrow over each eye.
  4. Line the eyes for emphasis.
  5. Apply the black to the lips for a dramatic effect.

If you are looking for easy Halloween makeup, then you can opt for zombie makeup. This makeup does not take much time.

  1. Take a sponge or soft makeup brush and cover the entire face using white face paint. Let this colour dry completely.
  2. Then, you can use grey colour for a decaying effect, while red/purple will be used to get a bruised effect, whereas yellow and green will be used for a gangrenous effect.
  3. To get some dark circles, take dark pencil eyeliner and make sure to blend the edges of the eyes using red/purple eyeshadow.
  4. Take a black powder or paint and blend it on the cheeks to get a hollow and sunken effect.
  5. Take dark lipstick and apply it to the lips. Also, make sure to get some bloody-looking scratches with the help of a sponge.

A simple and popular Halloween makeup idea. If you don’t have much time, just wear a brown, black, or white dress and draw on little whiskers to complete the DIY kitten look.

  1. You can start with pink (or black) paint on the nose and draw a soft upside-down triangle shape nose.
  2. Then, draw lines on the cheeks for whiskers.
  3. Get a cat ears headband; this will give a super cute cat look for Halloween night.

It is a shapeshifting monster that usually takes the form of Pennywise the Dancing Clown.

  1. Use a skin safe glue stick to block out your eyebrows and allow the glue to dry.
  2. Pat on white paint to your neck, face, and ears.
  3. Brush on black eyeshadow to your eyelids and lower lash line.
  4. Contour your jaw, mouth, temples, and chin with grey or black eyeshadow.
  5. Draw on the eyebrows, then add creases between them.
  6. Enhance your eyes with black eyeliner.
  7. Paint your nostrils and the tip of your nose dark red.
  8. Apply the same dark red colour to your upper and lower lip.
  9. Use an angled lipstick brush to apply the red face lines.

Jack Skellington (or skeleton)

A fictional character and the main protagonist of the 1993 film The Nightmare Before Christmas. Jack is the Pumpkin King of Halloween Town.

  1. Use a skin safe glue stick to block out your eyebrows and allow the glue to dry.
  2. Use white face paint to cover your face.
  3. Just under your brow, draw a line diagonally toward your natural arch with black makeup.
  4. Curve up and around the brow bone then, down and around the eye.
  5. Fill in the eye area with black.
  6. Pull a thin black line outward from each corner of your mouth.
  7. Using small flicks of the brush, add Jack’s signature mouth lines.
  8. Fill in the lips with black and blend out the edges into the lines around the mouth.
