How to style uneven earlobe piercings

Hello everyone!

As you can see from the current most popular posts in the sidebar, piercing-related articles are well-liked on this blog.

Today I want to talk to you about an unfortunate situation; that sadly is not that uncommon! Uneven piercings occur when one ear is pierced slightly higher or off to one side from the other. When this happens, the only way to correct the problem is to have one of your lobes re-pierced to match the other. First, the earrings must be removed, and the piercing must close before you can pierce it again. Healing generally takes six to eight weeks.

If a person only has one set of earlobe piercings, the best thing to do is to get one or both ears re-pierced. However, if the unevenness happens with a second or third set of lobe piercings, there can be other options.

If getting them re-pierced isn't an option for you, and you do not want any more piercings, your best option is mixing and matching your earrings. Having different shapes and sizes across your lobes could help offset the placement discrepancy. Furthermore, mismatched earrings are very trendy at the moment.

My lobes are pierced this way intentionally. I prefer an asymmetrical look!

As you can see, when wearing the same jewellery on both ears, the unevenness is much more noticeable.

Alternatively, if you are open to the idea of adding more ear piercings, you could try a constellation piercing. This will make the uneven piercing look intentional. Constellation piercings are multiple piercings that are placed to create unique patterns that are reminiscent of star constellations in the sky. While constellation piercings can come about accidentally or by fixing an ill-placed piercing, they can also be deliberate.

If you are searching for an edgier option, you could also add another piercing to create an orbital! An orbital piercing is a combination of two ear piercings connected by one piece of jewellery, generally a hoop.

Remember, when getting a piercing, always check the marks in a mirror before approving the piercing.
