Advent calendar 2025: Day 3 – A quiet light of Christmas magic

Hello, my darlings. ♡

Let’s open Door Number 3 together…

Today there is no quote, no beauty tip, no product.

Just a tiny, five-minute ritual that has marked the true beginning of December for me since I was a teenager. Whether you are religious, quietly spiritual, or simply love the hush of candlelight, this is for you.

Cosette’s Little Candle Moment

  1. Choose any candle you have (scented, plain, half-burnt – it doesn’t matter).
  2. Turn off all the lights in the room and let the darkness settle for a few seconds.
  3. Light the candle and watch the flame.

While it flickers, speak (or think) one of these – whichever feels right in your heart tonight:

If you are religious or would like a short prayer:

“Light of Christ, light of love,
Shine in my heart tonight.
Warm the people I love,
Calm the ones who are afraid.
and remind us all that You are near.
Amen.”

If prayer isn’t your language:

“May peace and kindness grow wherever this little light reaches.”

You could also:

Think of one person (or pet) you love and silently send them a little wish for the season.

That’s all. Five minutes, one flame, one gentle thought sent out into the night. Some years I cry, some years I smile, but the room always feels softer afterward – and December suddenly feels real.

If you light your candle tonight, wherever you are, know that we’re sharing the same glow. Just leave a 🕯️ in the comments if yours is burning.

That’s enough for me to feel the warmth.

See you tomorrow for Day 4.
