Every time I read those lines, I feel the same gentle tug on my heart. Christmas really is about the quiet, beautiful things: twinkly lights reflecting in someone’s eyes, the smell of cinnamon drifting through the house, a handwritten card arriving in the post, or simply sitting under a blanket with the people (or pets!) we love.
