Today is Gaudete Sunday — the Third Sunday of Advent, when we light the rose-coloured candle and the word is simply "Rejoice!"
Halfway through the waiting, we’re invited to lift our heads and feel joy—not because everything is perfect yet, but because the light is already closer.
Two gentle words for us today.
The traditional one that gives this Sunday its name:
And a more universal one, for anyone who needs it:
Rejoice in the nearness.
Rejoice in the cracks.
The light is coming, and it’s finding its way in already.
My quiet joyous moment today: the pink candle glowing, vegan hot cocoa in my favourite Christmas mug, and the warmth of knowing you’re walking this Advent with me.
Your turn. Leave a comment if you’re letting a little joy in today.
See you tomorrow for Door 15…
