- Choose one small object that instantly makes your heart feel lighter. Mine is a smooth, sun-warmed beach pebble I picked up on the shore in Tropea last summer. It still smells faintly of salt when I hold it close.
- Slip it into whichever pocket is closest to you today (coat, jeans, handbag, pyjama pocket… anywhere your fingers can find it without looking).
- Whenever the noise rises or the rush takes over, quietly reach in and touch your treasure. One silent second. A private reminder: “I was happy once, I am safe now, and I will be happy again.”
