Hello everyone!
Halloween is almost here so in today's post, I want to show you some spooky makeup ideas for the whole family.Â
I chose five (5) classic Halloween characters that are always fun to dress up as. These makeup looks can be worn by both adults and children. Halloween is one of the best holidays for kids as they get a chance to dress up and trick or treat. A little face paint will complete their costume!
No matter whether you are a makeup expert or a beginner, these ideas are simple and easy to apply.
The Wicked Witch Of The West
A fictional character who appears in the classic children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of OzÂ
- Use green face paint to cover your face.
- Make sure all exposed areas of the skin, neck area and ears are painted green. Paint the fingers and hands with the green makeup, if desired.
- Using the black colour, add details to the face. Create a high-arched, witch eyebrow over each eye.Â
- Line the eyes for emphasis.Â
- Apply the black to the lips for a dramatic effect.
Zombie
If you are looking for easy Halloween makeup, then you can opt for zombie makeup. This makeup does not take much time.
- Take a sponge or soft makeup brush and cover the entire face using white face paint. Let this colour dry completely.
- Then, you can use grey colour for a decaying effect, while red/purple will be used to get a bruised effect, whereas yellow and green will be used for a gangrenous effect.
- To get some dark circles, take dark pencil eyeliner and make sure to blend the edges of the eyes using red/purple eyeshadow.
- Take a black powder or paint and blend it on the cheeks to get a hollow and sunken effect.
- Take dark lipstick and apply it to the lips. Also, make sure to get some bloody-looking scratches with the help of a sponge.
Cat
A simple and popular Halloween makeup idea. If you don’t have much time, just wear a brown, black, or white dress and draw on little whiskers to complete the DIY kitten look.
- You can start with pink (or black) paint on the nose and draw a soft upside-down triangle shape nose.
- Then, draw lines on the cheeks for whiskers.
- Get a cat ears headband; this will give a super cute cat look for Halloween night.
It/PennywiseÂ
It is a shapeshifting monster that usually takes the form of Pennywise the Dancing Clown.Â
- Use a skin safe glue stick to block out your eyebrows and allow the glue to dry.
- Pat on white paint to your neck, face, and ears.Â
- Brush on black eyeshadow to your eyelids and lower lash line.Â
- Contour your jaw, mouth, temples, and chin with grey or black eyeshadow.Â
- Draw on the eyebrows, then add creases between them.Â
- Enhance your eyes with black eyeliner.Â
- Paint your nostrils and the tip of your nose dark red.Â
- Apply the same dark red colour to your upper and lower lip.
- Use an angled lipstick brush to apply the red face lines.Â
Jack Skellington (or skeleton)
A fictional character and the main protagonist of the 1993 film The Nightmare Before Christmas. Jack is the Pumpkin King of Halloween Town.
- Use a skin safe glue stick to block out your eyebrows and allow the glue to dry.Â
- Use white face paint to cover your face.
- Just under your brow, draw a line diagonally toward your natural arch with black makeup.
- Curve up and around the brow bone then, down and around the eye.
- Fill in the eye area with black.
- Pull a thin black line outward from each corner of your mouth.
- Using small flicks of the brush, add Jack’s signature mouth lines.
- Fill in the lips with black and blend out the edges into the lines around the mouth.
Now, it’s time to show up your creativity and pick the best Halloween costume and makeup.
