My experience:

I have done professional herbal peels before and I was extremely disappointed with the whole experience.  Not only were they painful and uncomfortable, I also didn't see any improvement in my skin.  However, I've never used an at-home peel before and I must say, I was very eager to try this product but a little nervous at the same time.  When I read on the box, "FOR PROFESSIONAL USE ONLY" I couldn't help feeling worried.  However, I followed the directions and I was actually very surprised at how simple the peel is to use.

I apply a thin, even layer of peel on my face, using a cotton ball.  The cotton ball does not soak the peel up because the peel is gel based.  The first time I used it I left it on for 2 minutes  but by the second use I was able to leave the peel on my face for  3 minutes without any irritation.  After 3 minutes I rinse my face well with cold water and apply pure Aloe Vera gel to prevent dryness.

The second time I used the peel,  I felt my skin tightening (about ten minutes after I rinsed my face) but the feeling only lasted for a few short minutes.  I haven't experiences any redness, irritation, itching or flaking with this peel, I was prepared to feel some sort of discomfort but fortunately I did not!

By the end of my first peel my skin felt softer and smoother.  Did I see any big results?  YES!!  My skin is glowing.  My active acne has drastically improved and so did my acne scaring!

Refresh Skin Therapy claims that with this peel "complexion is noticeably brighter and more even after first application" and  "it erases fine lines, shrinks pores, improves oily and problematic skin, clears pores and prevents breakouts."  I can say that it really does what it claims to do!  I am highly impressed with this product and can’t wait to see what it will do for me in the future as I keep using it.

Overall, I've had a wonderful experience with this product.  My skin is brighter and softer.  If you're looking for a gentle product to eliminate acne scars, dark spots and even fight the signs of ageing, this peel is worth giving a try.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

  1. Hi there, this is the first blog of yours that I read. Can you tell me if you use this in conjunction with prescription Retin A? I'm thinking that I would not need to use both, but I'm new to Retin A as well, so I'm hoping to learn. Thank you!
