The gel cast... Scrunch out the crunch!

Hello everyone!

As I previously told you, I have naturally (2c/3a) curly hair.  I haven’t straightened my hair in months and I’m loving my natural texture. J

Personally I prefer using gel over mousse and creams.  Why?  Because gel helps my hair stay frizz free and defines and holds my curls better.  That said, I DO NOT like the stiff, wet look at all!  I like my hair soft and touchable.

I love Annalynne Mccord's curly hair

If you are using gel on your curly hair, chances are your hair dries hard and stiff.  This is called the gel cast. The gel crystallises and forms a barrier around the curl.

How to get soft, touchable curls using hair gel:
  • Always apply (alcohol-free and silicone-free) gel to freshly cleansed and wet hair.
  • Do not touch your hair again until it dries.  This is key!  During the drying process the gel may harden and crystallise, forming a gel cast, but don’t worry.
  • When your hair is completely dry, simply break this gel cast by shaking hair at the roots, gently scrunching out the crunch to reveal luxurious, bouncy, soft, touchable curls!

Some people like the hold and definition they get with the gel cast and don't scrunch out the crunch.  I think the difference that scrunching out the crunch makes, is simply amazing!  What do you think?  Leave a comment and let me know.
