Advent calendar 2025: Day 6 – The little jar of light

Hello, everyone!
Let’s open Door Number 6 together…

Today I’m sharing something I’ve wanted to do for years, and this December I’m finally starting it for the very first time—right here with you.

The Little Jar of Light

  1. Find any small jar you love (an empty jam jar, candle jar, or even a pretty glass).
  2. Cut a stack of little paper strips and keep them next to the jar with a pen.
  3. Every night before bed, write down one thing—no matter how small—that brought you warmth, joy, or peace that day. It could be “the first sip of hot chocolate", “fairy lights glowing on the wall", “a meme that made me smile", or “the cosy silence after switching off my phone".
  4. Fold it, drop it in, and let the jar fill up with light.
  5. On New Year’s Eve we’ll open them all and remember just how much goodness was hiding in ordinary days.

I’ve already written my first slip and tucked it away: “Day 6 – finally starting the jar I’ve dreamed about for years.” Your turn. In the comments, tell me the very first thing you’ll put in your jar tonight. Let’s fill them together.

See you tomorrow for Door 7…
