Reflecting on the journey | Thirteen (13) years of blogging

Hello everyone!

Today is my blogiversary! Thirteen years ago, I embarked on a journey that would forever change my life. It all started with a simple idea and a passion for sharing my thoughts and experiences. Back then, I had no idea what this platform would become and that my little corner of the internet would still be here 13 years later.

I started with a Blogspot subdomain, pouring my heart and soul into each post. The early days were filled with uncertainty and doubt. However, I persevered because of my desire to connect with others and make a difference. Although I've been blogging for 13 years, I've started posting more consistently and taking a more professional approach toward blogging since the pandemic. Later, I switched to a custom domain on the 1st of January, 2021. Nowadays, I'm publishing new content almost every day!

There are still a significant number of individuals who are not familiar with the concept of blogging. I cannot tell you how many times I'm asked what I do for a living, and when I answer, "I'm a blogger" or "I write articles on my website", people just don't get it. They assume that I don't have a job. I had people tell me I must have a lot of free time on my hands since I don't work. Boy, are they wrong! So now I tell anyone who asks that I work from home. Believe it or not, most people don't have any follow-up questions!

Being a blogger comes with its fair share of challenges and rewards. On one hand, I enjoy the freedom to work from any location, be my own boss, and pursue my passions. On the other hand, consistently creating high-quality content can be time-consuming and demanding. It requires dedication, inventiveness, and the capacity to keep up with current trends.

Today, as I reflect on the past thirteen years, I am filled with gratitude for the incredible journey I've been on. Blogging has allowed me to grow personally and professionally, pushing me to constantly evolve and adapt. It has taught me the importance of authenticity, vulnerability, and staying true to my voice amidst the noise of the digital world.

But this journey is far from over. As I look ahead, I am excited about the possibilities that lie ahead. I have big plans for my blog. I am committed to continuing to provide valuable content, engaging stories, and a platform for meaningful conversations.

Let's celebrate the past, embrace the present, and look forward to an exciting future filled with growth, connection, and endless possibilities. I am very thankful for this blog. It helped me become a better writer and storyteller. In 2010, when I first started blogging, I mainly posted DIY beauty recipes, and now I write articles on various topics. The format has changed and evolved with me through the years.

Throughout the years, I've faced moments of self-doubt, creative blocks and technical difficulties. However, each hurdle I encountered made me stronger and more determined to push through. Looking back on these 13 years, I am filled with pride and gratitude. None of this would have been possible without the unwavering support of my readers and followers.

Despite these challenges, the rewards of being a blogger are worth it. The sense of fulfilment that comes from sharing knowledge and experiences, the connections I make with like-minded individuals, and being my own boss are all part of the journey.

As I celebrate this milestone, I am reminded of the importance of perseverance, passion, and staying true to my vision. I am excited to continue this journey by creating more meaningful content and reaching new heights. Thank you for being a part of this incredible adventure.
