The many uses of hot water bottles

Hello everyone!

I'm a big fan of old-school hot water bottles. A hot water bottle can save you energy and money without sacrificing thermal comfort. That is only one of the reasons why I believe that a hot water bottle is a must-have in every household. These days hot water bottles come in all shapes and sizes.

Hot water bottles can be great for keeping you warm, in addition, hot water bottles can be great for helping you relax, relieve stress, ease aches and pains, and get a good night’s sleep. All of these can be great for both your short and long term health.

Here is the list of the top things you can do with a hot water bottle:

Keep warm

There are two main ways to keep warm with a hot water bottle. The first is by resting it on or close to your body, and the second is to use it to heat the inside of your bed or sleeping bag before entering.

Improve sleep

For help getting to sleep, place a hot water bottle under your blanket at least 5 to 10 minutes before you intend to enter. Once you are ready to get in, it is advisable to remove the hot water bottle first.

Reduce stress

Hot water bottles are great at aiding relaxation and reducing stress and anxiety. That is because the heat stimulates blood flow and improves circulation around your body. Also, heat has the effect of making you more comfortable in your surroundings.

Ease aches and pains

If you are suffering from aches and pains, use a hot water bottle to:

Cold therapy works better for inflammation and helps to reduce swelling, while heat therapy is ideal for reducing cramping and muscle spasms. Many hot water bottles can provide both forms of treatment. Instead of filling your bottle with hot water, fill it with cold water from the fridge, immediately turning it into a cold pack.

Make your four-legged friends more comfortable -

Hot water bottles are safe for dogs and can provide warmth when a dog is resting at night. They are also great for healing purposes and can help with inflammation. You can also put a hot water bottle in a puppy’s bed. They will enjoy cuddling up against it.

Safety first!

  1. When using a hot water bottle, make sure you follow the safety instructions.
  2. When preparing a hot water bottle for your dog, do not use boiling water.
  3. To avoid burns and similar injuries, always use a hot water bottle with a cover or wrap your bottle with a towel or blanket.

Have a great day!
