Favourite curl creams / leave-in conditioners of 2020

Image
Hello everyone and Happy New Year!  In this first post of the year, I want to share with you some of my favourite hair care products.  As I previously told you; I've been wearing my hair, exclusively, in its naturally wavy/curly state (2c/3a) since June 2019.  Using a curl cream or a leave-in conditioner is an important step in my curly routine, one I cannot skip.   Here are the four (4) hair creams I purchased and repurchased in 2020... The reason I use four different leave-ins is that I rotate between them, and use the cream that my hair needs on that particularly wash day.  Your hair should maintain a balance between moisture and protein  and finding and  maintaining the balance between  these two is critical for achieving and  maintaining   healthy   hair.    Neither  protein  nor  moisture  can work well without  the  other. When my hair feels a bit dry and is in dire need of moisture , I use the   Garnier Fructis  Aloe Vera Air-Dry Cream .  This product is very moisture-ric

Hello everyone! I haven't written a favourites post   in a while, almost 6   months   to be exact, oops!  This was my last favourites post:  End of summer favourites , back in September 2016.  But I have been trying out and loving some new things recently so  today I want to share my current   beauty essentials .  I'm a bsolutely obsessed with the four beauty products I mention below,  these are all great products that also happen to be very affordable!  Check them out...   Denman Scalp Massage Brush I use this brush in the shower to massage my scalp with the soft plastic pins while shampooing and to detangle my hair while conditioning.  I also use it to distribute my leave-in products evenly.  I even use this scalp massager when I colour my hair to make sure I remove any hair dye from my scalp.   Cien All-In-One BB Cream  (light) This product aims to correct imperfections, even out skin tone, soften the skin, reduce wrinkles and provide 24h hydratio

Tag post: Ride or die make-up tag

Hello everyone! I haven't done a tag post in a while, so today I'm doing the  Ride or Die Make-up Tag .   This tag was created by Jaclyn Hill on YouTube.   Her rules are simple: "List your ride or die cosmetic products from each category (foundation, blush , mascara, lip products, etc.).  If you could only take ONE from each category to a desert island, which would you choose?" Here's a list of my ride or die cosmetics:  PRIMER NIVEA MEN Sensitive Post Shave Balm   You can read my first "beauty secret" post to find out why this product works so well as a make-up primer.  FOUNDATION Max Factor Lasting Performance Foundation in 101 This is my all time favourite foundation.  Shade 101 is my perfect match!  CONCEALER The Body Shop Concealer All-In-One in 01 FACE POWDER The Body Shop Loose Face Powder in 01 I actually have 2 favourite powders, I also love  Catrice Prime And Fine Mattifying Powder but I have to choose only one for thi

Hello everyone! Summer  is coming to a close, and in   honour   of all the summer days I've enjoyed these past months I thought I'd rave about  my   favourite   beauty products .  Some, of course, I will keep using through autumn... Hair care products This summer I cut my hair several times, currently it's at  collarbone length  and I love it.    My hair is wavy and frizzy   so I've been straightening it a lot this summer, since I find it easier to manage that way.  However my hair tends to look oily by the second day and I  will not  heat style my hair more than once a week.  Luckily I found three amazing products that solved all of my hair problems. Yves Rocher Botanical Hair Repair Oil This is a pre-poo (pre-wash) oil is enriched with restorative babassu,   jojoba and macadamia oils to nourish the scalp and strengthen the hair.  Contains   more than 99% natural ingredients .  I apply it twice a week to dry hair before shampooing, leave it o

May favourites

Hello everyone! It's time for another monthly favourites.  Take a look at what I've been loving during the month of May: Colour Eyeliners from  Yesensy Cosmetics and Max Factor During the Spring and Summer months I love to wear simple eye make-up with a pop of colour, and May was no exception.    These are four of my favourites -  Yesensy Cosmetics Eyeliners in Gold, Emerald Green and Lilac (Lilac is my current favourite!) and  Max Factor Kohl Pencil in Ice Blue Garnier Fructis  Hydra-Ricci (Curl & Shine)   Fortifying  Hair Mask I almost finished the mask for curly hair I mentioned in my March favourites , the  Garnier Fructis  Hydra-Ricci  Fortifying  Hair Mask .   Its formula enriched with  bamboo sap, claims to  define and nourish curls for 48h.  It's supposed to give the curls a "spring effect" and act as a barrier against humidity and frizz.   I really like this mask.    Sometimes I also use the leave-in conditioner from the sa

April favourites

Hello everyone! For me last month was all about prepping my skin and my hair for "the big event".  My brother got married on Friday 25th and I was his witness.  :) Without further ado, here are my April beauty favourites: Holland   &   Barrett Aloe Vera  Gel Bio Active Skin Treatment + Vitamin E Capsules (100iu) I usually mix the content of a capsule of vitamin E with a blob of Aloe vera and use instead of my night cream a couple of times a week.  During the month of April, I applied this mixture more often than that.  Both ingredients help to heal and regenerate the skin.  Whenever I use Aloe vera and vitamin E at night, I wake up to glowing, clear, even skin.  I LOVE it!  Both Aloe vera and vitamin E can be used for active acne, acne scars, pigmentation, anti-ageing and dry skin  among  other skin conditions. Biafine  Topical Emulsion I use this as a spot treatment on any blemishes I get.  This product also reduces the appearance of

I also love the Garnier Fructis Henna and Blackberry Vinegar hair mask and currently I am trying out their mask for curly hair.   And if you are looking for a DIY hair treatment,  why don't you try  my latest DIY hair mask ?   Nivea Deodorant Pure & Natural Action I love this deodorant because it's aluminium - free and lets the skin breathe.  It  doesn't  clog pores and it claims to offer 48 hour protection.  I also like the delicate jasmine scent .  I do
