My mascara secret

Hello everyone!

Don't you hate it when you purchase a new mascara but you don't really like the wand it comes with?  Or when you have to throw away your old mascara tube along with your favourite wand?  I do!

Personally, I LOVE L’Oréal Telescopic Mascara.  The thin, flexible plastic wand, coats and separates each lash and makes my eyelashes  look fuller and longer!  It give me the  "false lashes" look without wearing falsies.

However, I still like to try out new mascaras.  I personally love volumising mascaras, but I don't like the ginormous wands they usually come with.  They make it almost impossible to apply mascara without ruining the rest of your eye make-up!

So here's my "mascara secret"...

I throw away my old mascara tubes but save the mascara wands.  I just clean the wands and reuse them!  If there’s a particular mascara wand that works very well for your, why not use that with other mascara formulas?

All you need to do is follow these simple steps:

  1. Clean your favourite wand with an antibacterial liquid soap and leave it to air dry.
  2. Once it's completely dry,  you can use it to apply any mascara you want.
  3. You can dip it straight into the tube, but I prefer a more hygienic method.  Gently swipe your favourite (clean) wand onto the wand of the mascara you want to use (which is loaded with product).
  4. Apply mascara with your favourite wand.

Remember: Discard mascara after about four months of usage.  Bacteria build-up can lead to eye infection and irritation.  For more info read Mascara 101.

And there you have it!  Easy, right?

I hope you find this helpful!  What's your favourite mascara?  Have you ever applied your mascara with a different wand?  Leave a comment and let me know.
