Weekly roundup: Semi-permanent makeup regrets, the Evil Eye, everyday piercing style and a Maltese true crime case

Hello, everyone!

It’s been another interesting week here at Cosette’s Pantry – Wellbeing & Dark Tales. We’ve had thoughtful beauty reflections, a deep dive into Maltese folklore, practical piercing styling advice, and a chilling local true crime case. If you missed anything, here’s a quick recap of the posts that went live this week.

Monday 24th August: When semi-permanent makeup goes wrong

I opened the week with an honest look at the less glamorous side of semi-permanent makeup. From microblading and lip blush to permanent eyeliner, we explored why regrets can surface months or years later, the most common issues people face, and the realistic options available if the results no longer feel right. Gentle, practical guidance for anyone navigating this topic.

Wednesday 26th August: Eerie Tales with Cosette

Midweek we turned to one of Malta’s oldest and most enduring beliefs with The Evil Eye in Malta – L-Għajn. From protective horns and the horned-hand gesture to the painted eyes on traditional luzzu boats and the quiet words still spoken today, this atmospheric exploration of local folklore includes the full transcript alongside the YouTube video.

Friday 28th August: Styling multiple ear piercings for everyday wear

As a follow-up to earlier piercing posts, I shared practical tips for styling multiple ear piercings so they feel balanced, polished and wearable day to day — whether for work, casual outings or evenings out. Focus on balance, scale, metal consistency and comfort so the overall look never tips into “too much.”

Saturday 29th August: True Crime Tales with Cosette

We closed the week with a local unsolved case: The woman in the well: The unsolved murder of Carmela Borg. In 1992, the body of a 74-year-old woman was discovered at the bottom of a well in Mġarr. More than three decades later, the case remains open. The full story is now up on the blog.

It’s felt good to keep the mix of wellbeing and dark tales flowing this week. Thank you for reading, watching, and supporting Cosette’s Pantry.
