We all have our insecurities, and we all struggle with certain things that make us feel self-conscious about certain aspects of ourselves. The most important thing in life is that you start to notice what these things are so that you can change them.

Too many of us spend our lives trying to impress other people, but it’s time to stop this. The only person that you should be trying to impress is you, and anyone else who doesn’t like that doesn’t deserve a place in your life. In this article, we’re going to be taking a look at some of the things that could be negatively impacting the way that you feel about yourself and some suggestions on how you can sort them.

The people around you

The first and most common problem is the people around you. Have you ever stopped and taken a second to look at who you have chosen to surround yourself with? We don’t mean in a shallow way; we mean the kind of people that they are. You must be taking a look at how they act towards you, the way they speak to you, and other things like that. The reason we say this is because this is going to have a massive impact on how you feel about yourself overall.

The people that you surround yourself with should be the best of the best. They should be the people who are always trying to build you up rather than tear you down. They should be the people who support you in all of your endeavours and are there for you when things don’t go right. If you can think of people in your life right now who don’t fit this criteria, then it might be time to thin the herd a little.

Your appearance

The other most common thing that negatively impacts how people feel about themselves is the way that they look. We live in a society where you have to look a certain way if you want to be accepted, and that’s simply unfair. Nonetheless, it’s the way that things are, and this often means that people struggle with the way that they look if they don’t fit the exact standards that have been laid out in the beauty pages.

We want to emphasise something here, and that is that you should never make any changes to your physical appearance unless you want to. You should never change the way that you look because it will make someone else feel more comfortable. You should only do it if it will genuinely make you happy. For example, if you are struggling with your face, identify the issue and see if fixing it would make you feel more confident. You can look into options like surgery to restore facial volume and other options, depending on what the problem actually is.

Your health

Your overall health could also be a problem area for you. Whether you have a health condition or you’re just not living a healthy lifestyle, both of these things can have a massive impact on the way that you feel about yourself. If it’s the former, then you need to speak to a doctor, see what, if anything, can be done, and then go from there. If you listen to the advice that they give you, you might find that it’s easier to take care of your health and feel a little better going forward.

If you’re just not living a healthy lifestyle and it’s making you feel self-conscious, you can fix that pretty easily. Work on changing up your diet so that it’s more balanced. Work on creating an exercise regime that works for you and keeps you feeling good. Set yourself a bedtime routine so that you’re getting the required amount of sleep to function at maximum capacity. There’s always something that you can do to improve; you just need to be dedicated.
